Our Story

Lauriol Plaza Restaurant was established in in 1983. Since then, we have become a landmark  restaurant in DC. We are nestled in Dupont Circle, one of the most vibrant, diverse, neighborhoods in Washington DC.

According to food critics and clients, we are known for good food, good service and good prices. Our diverse clientele has a passion for Mexican, International and Latin American food.

This is the spot to see and be seen, in the Nation’s Capital and, although, we are a large restaurant, in many ways we still remain the small neighborhood restaurant we once were back in the old days. We are proud to have served families and couples in the 1980s and their new generations in the 2000s.

Through engagements, weddings and reunion celebrations, we continue to serve them generation after generation.

From the moment you enter, you will be impressed with the scenery. Whether you sit in the main floor, the mezzanine level, the outside patio or the rooftop, you will always see a stunning perspective of the space around you.

Inside, you will always see a large mural covering the wall above the bar that changes with each season of the year showing DC sceneries of Winter, Spring, Summer and Autumn.

Additionally, the cool and urban décor throughout the restaurant is marked by matte black metal and white walls, multi-tone wood, forming the curved ceiling, the stair rails and the windows, as tall as many of the buildings in the neighborhood.

Dog walkers, bikers and joggers travel by along the sidewalks as if they were extras in an urban film. There is so much to see here. We thank our loyal clientele and our hardworking staff for making Lauriol Plaza the landmark institution it has become over the past 35 years.
